Two ways in
Everyone gets a record, however they arrived.
A new hire comes out of the pipeline. Everybody who was already here comes from a spreadsheet, or is added one at a time. All three end in the same place.
From the pipeline
Mark the candidate hired and the record opens with their name, their contact details and the role they applied for already in it.
From a spreadsheet
A guided import with a dry run: you see exactly what would be created, and what each row is missing, before anything is written.
One at a time
Add employee creates the record on its own. You can connect it to a login later, or never.
The record
A login is optional, and it unlocks the rest.
A record can sit on its own. Connecting it to an account is what lets the person see their own page, and what lets their manager approve their leave.
- Only the first few fields are required: name, position, start date and contract type. The rest can wait.
- The start date anchors everything after it, from the onboarding steps to the first year's leave allowance.
- The directory says who still has no record, so people who log in but were never filed do not stay invisible.
