Edit, Pause or Close a Job

Change a live posting, pause new applications, or take it down, without losing your candidates.

For recruiters & hiring managers
1

Find the job controls

The “Manage This Job” panel

Open the job from your company's Jobs list. On the job's page you'll find a Manage This Job panel on the right, with the job's current status and all its action buttons. The Jobs list also has a quick Edit pencil and Delete on each card.

Who can do this: you'll only see these controls for jobs at your own company, and the actions you see depend on your team permissions.

Edit a job

Click Edit (or the pencil on a job card) to reopen the posting in the same form you used to create it, with every field already filled in. Make your changes and click Save Changes.

  • It's free: editing a live job doesn't cost anything and doesn't need to be re-approved.
  • Drafts are always open: a job saved as a draft can be edited freely until you publish it.
There's a time limit: once a job is live, you can only edit it for a short window, shown as an Editable until badge next to the status. After that, editing is locked so the posting candidates applied to can't change. To edit an archived job, reactivate it first.

Pause a job

Stop new applications, keep the listing

On an active job, click Pause to stop taking new applications without removing the posting. Click Resume to start accepting again. Both are free and take effect immediately.

  • Still visible: a paused job stays in the marketplace, but its badge shows Paused and Not Accepting Applications, so candidates can see it but can't apply.
  • Your candidates stay: everyone who already applied and your whole pipeline are untouched, and you can keep working them.
Watch the deadline: the posting's expiry timer keeps running while paused, so a job can expire. If that happens, extend its deadline to bring it back.

Close (archive) a job

Take it down but keep your data

To take a job down for good while keeping your candidates, WizzHire uses Archive Job. Click it on the job's page and confirm. Archiving:

  • Removes it from the marketplace: it no longer appears in search and its public link stops working, so no one can open or apply.
  • Makes your pipeline read-only: you can still view your candidates, but you can't move them between stages or message them.
  • Keeps everything: all applicants and their data stay. You can Reactivate the job anytime to open and edit it again, though reactivating it requires paying again.

Delete a job

Delete removes the job and its entire pipeline. Unlike archiving, you can't reopen it or get the applicant data back, so use it only when you're sure. To take the job down but keep your candidates, archive it instead.

What each status means

The badge on a job tells you where it stands:

  • Draft: saved but not published, fully editable and not public yet.
  • Active: live in the marketplace and accepting applications.
  • Paused: still listed, but not accepting new applications.
  • Archived: taken down from the marketplace and read-only. Reactivate to reopen it.
  • Deleted: removed for good, along with its pipeline.
