Messaging

Talk to a candidate or a recruiter about a specific application, and know what messaging cannot do.

For everyone
1

How messaging works

Recruiters open the conversation, always

Open Messages from the sidebar, under Communication. Recruiters and job seekers both use the same inbox.

A conversation is always started by the recruiter, and it is always attached to a specific job application. As a job seeker you cannot open one yourself. You will simply find a conversation waiting in your inbox when a recruiter opens one with you.

2

Start a conversation

For recruiters

Open the application, or the candidate's profile, and click Send Message (on a candidate card it reads just Message). WizzHire takes you straight to your messages.

Click it again next week and you land in the same conversation. WizzHire reuses the existing thread for that application instead of creating a second one, so you can use the button as a shortcut whenever you want.

3

When your message lands

If the other person has WizzHire open, your message appears in their chat instantly. If they are offline, they get a notification with a short preview of what you wrote, so they know it is waiting for them.

Archived jobs go read-only if the job behind the conversation is archived, the composer disappears and you see This job is archived. Messaging is disabled. The history stays readable, but nobody can add to it. Unarchive the job if you need the conversation back.
How notifications work

Where to go next

Messaging is a step in the pipeline, not a separate tool. Recruiters usually open a conversation once a candidate reaches a stage worth talking about, and job seekers see it appear against the application it belongs to.
